Online Forex content ranges from general education to signals, affiliate promotion and managed-account offers. Those are different activities. Before relying on a creator’s material, make clear what is being offered and who receives payment if you act on it.
Questions worth checking
- What is the actual offer? Free videos, a paid course, a signal group and account management carry different risks and obligations.
- Are credentials specific and verifiable? Search the regulator’s official directory using the firm’s legal name, not just a logo or screenshot.
- Are performance claims independently supported? Screenshots and testimonials can omit losses, fees, time periods and account conditions. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
- Are conflicts disclosed? Referral links, broker partnerships, sponsorships and affiliate compensation can affect how a product is presented.
- Is the risk explained as clearly as the upside? Be cautious with guaranteed returns, low-risk claims, pressure to deposit quickly or requests to transfer money to personal accounts.
Singapore checks
Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) provides a Financial Institutions Directory and an Investor Alert List. MAS says the Alert List is not exhaustive. Check the legal entity and official contact details directly, and understand that absence from an alert list is not an endorsement.
Use official resources: MAS Financial Institutions Directory and MAS Investor Alert List.
This checklist is educational and does not make an assessment of any specific person, company or broker.
